Cleveland Browns 2010 Betting Odds, and Team Breakdown
The NFL pre-season starts this week and don't blink the regular season is only a little over a month away. Today we continue to give our free NFL team by team breakdowns. We wrap up the AFC North today with the Cleveland Browns. Maybe no team has seen more changes since training camp last year than the Browns. Gone are their two QB's and top WR. Still as with all NFL teams a new year brings new hope, and the Browns are hoping their offseason changes will bring new energy to a team that was pretty bad in 2009.
The offense was downright terrible most of last year and most of the problems were blamed on Quinn and Anderson at the QB position. Well they are gone and have been replaced with veteran Delhomme and rookie Colt McCoy. These two might be upgrades but they still are not even close to being elite signal callers. Even a bigger problem might be the lack of weapons that surround them. Only one explosive starter that we see and its unproven Massaquoi. The best news is the offensive line is back and might be a top five overall offensive line if they stay healthy. McCoy might have to sit early but late in the year he might give them the best chance to win consistently.
The best defensive player in 2009 for the Browns was Sean Rogers but with lingering gun charges its unclear if he will be suspended by the commisioner. Overall this 3-4 defense lacks speed and can't be expected for much of a turnaround in 2010. The only bright spot might be the upgrades at DB with rookie Haden and newly acquired Sheldon Brown. Still we know the lack of depth will come back to hurt this team as injuries can't be avoided overĀ a 16 week season. Browns better hope Rogers does not miss any time but does not look promising.
Special team expert Cribbs can take any team and put them on his shoulders for a game or two. The absolute best punt and kickoff returner could spell at least 2 victories for this team. Above average place kicker and punter will make this unit as a whole at the top of the special teams categories in 2010.
Odds for Cleveland Browns 2010
No way you can take any future bet thinking this team is going to win the division or more. The best bet is to take the under wins as this is a tough division this year and rest of the schedule is pretty touch as well. This team will be improved and might be a decent cover team but that improvement won't equal as many wins as people think.
