Denver Broncos 2010 NFL Prediction, Odds, and Preview Written by Craig Trapp craig@ctsportspicks.com

Not many NFL fans are more die hard about their team than the Denver Broncos, but unfortunately this team has had a run of very average play. The 2010 NFL season comes with mixed expectations as some see Coach McDaniels as a young genius and others think he is sinking them further in the whole. Two seasons in a row now we see the Bronco's get rid of their best player. This year they parted ways with Brandon Marshall in a trade to the Dolphins. Maybe the move will bring this team together but it will be an uphill battle in a much improved AFC West. Lets take a detailed look at Denver's team, future odds, and give our expert prediction for the 2010 season.

A hot start last year had much more to do with the defense than this much maligned offensive unit. Orton had a much better year than many could have expected.  But with Tebow and Quinn added in the offseason maybe the staff is not convinced 2010 will be a repeat performance for Orton. In the past we could always expect a slew of RB's to carry the load for the Bronco's but think it actually might be a weakness now. The once great zone run blocking scheme in Denver is just a memory and has left this line in turmoil. This line might be a bottom 10 offensive line in the league and will need to improve if they want to finish better than last year. Again this unit has a ton of questions to answer including losing Marshall and Shcelter at TE. Look for this unit to struggle this year and don't be surprised if Tebow plays a bunch by mid season.

With the hot start last year we got to know this overachieving defense very well. Only issue might be having to replace the D coordinator as Nolan left in the offseason. In 2009 only a  below average defensive line kept this team from really being a top 10 defense. With three new starters on the defensive line this unit might even become a strength of this team. That will allow the athletic LB's to really blitz and confuse offenses all season long. Dumervill looks to be out for most of the season with a torn pectoral muscle so the depth of this defense will be tested but still think the LB's will be very good. Bailey is still a top CB in the league and he leads a very good secondary. The 2010 season should see this defense take a step forward and they will need it as the offense struggles.

Special teams looks very good again in 2010 as both kickers are back. Prater is an above average kicker hitting on nearly 85% of kicks in 2009.  The star of this unit and maybe the best offensive weapon is Eddie Royal with his amazing return skills. If this team is to win they will need Royal to stay healthy and provide big returns all season long.

2010 Denver Bronco's Odds

-Super Bowl Champs 2011 +7500

-AFC Champs +3500

-AFC West Champs +700

-Over Under Wins - 7 wins

Most teams that we have looked at so far have some promise for the 2010 season but this is a team that is going to have big issues. McDaniels has bit off more than he can chew and this team looks like a 4-5 win team at best. Too bad this defense will be wasted as the offense struggles mount up in 2010. Play the under 7 wins this one is a very safe future odds bet.
