Belmont Stakes 2011 betting picks
The third leg of the triple crown comes to Belmont Stakes and once again their will be no triple crown winner. But the good news is we might have one of the best Belmont Stakes fields in over 20 years. The Kentucky Derby top 7 horses will all be running in the 2011 Belmont Stakes. The first two legs of this years triple crown races we saw longshots as both winners paid extremly well. For those of you that followed Derby pick you landed on not only Animal Kingdom but also the exacta with Nehro as well. Lets get back on the winning train with the 2011 Belmont Stake picks.
Looking at this years Belmont stakes it screams take a price as Animal Kingdom (2-1), Nehro (4-1), and Shackleford (9-2) will all be way to low price for me to take. We are going for third straight Belmont Stakes as we nailed the winner Summer Bird in 2009 and the exacta in 2010. Lets give our top 4 for the 2011 Belmont Stakes
1. Master of Hounds (10-1): If you watch the Kentucky Derby again you see that this horse had the worst trip and still found a way to make a late run and finish an impressive 5th place. Garrett Gomez said right after the Kentucky Derby that he thought this horse would be perfect for the Belmont stakes. Sitting on huge race and think we will get closer to 12-1 at post time. Definately going to be sitting on the hip of Animal Kingdom and with the extra time off think Master of Hounds run right past him down the long stretch.
2. Santiva (15-1): Another horse that had a tough trip in the 2011 Kentucky Derby but still dug down and finished a nice 6th place. Look for Santiva to be sitting much closer to the pace as he runs best from just off the pace. This horse is going to be a juicy price and his running style and pedigree says he will love the Belmont Stakes.
3. Mucho Macho Man (10-1): After a disapointing Preakness you have to really love the confidence of bringing this colt back three weeks later. The missing shoe in the Preakness has been blamed for his bad performance and now the new glue on shoes lead him to really nice bounceback.
4. Animal Kingdom (2-1): Our winning pick for the Kentucky Derby had us celebrating the first Saturday in May but hard to imagine that the last two races did not take something out of this horse. Like this horse but comes down to price and its hard to take this low of odds on a dead closer that is racing for third time in 5 weeks.
Put a nice win bet on MASTER OF HOUNDS and lets put a Trifecta box with our top 4 horses.
