Two at large BCS berths show up in the Sugar Bowl 2012 as Michigan returns to glory and Virginia Tech continues with its 5th consecutive BCS berth. This game might be the best matchup of any of the BCS games as two dual threat QB's square off.  Denard Robinson improved passing skills have taken Michigan this far and Virginia Tech is led by Logan Thomas power running style. Oddsmakers see this as a very tight game, line is Michigan -2 and the Total of 51. 

Wolverines offense gets all the attention but the real turnaround in 2011 was on the defense side of the ball. Rich Rodiguez 3 year tenure ended last year but his recruits are all over this defense and some credit has to be given to his recruiting. Turnover battle has been won all year long by this Big Blue defense and the Turnover battle will be the key again in the Sugar Bowl. Offensively Michigan can just about outscore any team in college football featuring the most exciting single player in QB Denard Robinson. Even though Denard's running numbers are down in 2011 it will be the key for the Sugar Bowl.  

The Hokies huge following looks to have swayed the Sugar Bowl committee to take this VT team that did not beat a top 25 team all year. Even Frank Beamor thought that the 2nd loss to Clemson would have them out a BCS bowl but now he looks to make a statement with this oppurtunity. Most Virginia Tech teams feature great defenses and solid special teams but this year neither have been good. In fact this years Hokies are much more dependent on this explosive offense to win games, first year starting QB Logan Thomas has been up to the challenge and this game falls all on his shoulders.
