New York Giants at San Francisco 49ers ATS Picks 2012 NFC Championship Game Written by admin admin@picksandparlays.net

Not may people would predict the NFC Championship would feature the Giants and 49ers but with the NFL you have to prepare for the unexpected. With the Superbowl at the fingertips of these two teams we should see an amazing game featuring defense of all things. With an NFL that has shifted to the sexy offenses its funny to see two teams led by good old fashion hard nose defense. Oddsmakers see this is a great close game shown in the current odds (SF -2 and total of 43).

New York Giants look very similar to their Super Bowl team of 2008, as the competion increases so does their play. The Giants defense has once again found their pass rush and the health of the defensive line has changed the late season sucess of this team. New York Giants offense has changed a ton in last three seasons where they now ride Eli Manning's arm to pass themselves to wins. Rush offense has been better the last two weeks but still on the season this running attack was downright terrible. Now that the Giants face a great defense it will be on the offensive line to continue to at least have some success running the ball to give Manning a chance.  Experience is definately a plus and with Tom Coughlin's great coaching its hard to see this team at least having a chance late in this game.

San Francisco has went back to the proven way to win NFL games, run the ball and play great defense. The 49ers are the most physical team in the league and they don't depend on slight of hand to win games. Harbaugh has brought the two Tight End physical run game from Stanford and it has been very successful. Alex Smith has taken this offense and his carreer to a new level and not many could have anticipated this turn around. On the other side most experts predicted that this defense would be very good and they have not disappointed. Defensively this team is so sound, they put pressure on the passer without a ton of blitzes and are the best tackling team in the league. Not a ton of Playoff experience and Alex Smith are the only two knocks on this team. Harbaugh is a great coach but one more win will move him into the Elite Coach category, and we are not one to bet against him.

ATS Records

ATS Trends

-NYG are 7-1 ATS L8 Playoff Games

-Under is 7-2 L9 Playoff Games for Giants

-SF is 19-6-3 ATS L28 home games

-Over is 4-1 L5 Playoff games for 49ers

-Favorite is 4-0 ATS head to head

-Home team is 5-2 ATS L7 head to head

SF -2: Too many are dismissing the earlier SF win 27-20. Harbaugh is a genius and this win will show it, he has turned this team into a physical winning machine. Defense wins championships and we have the best defense in SF. Giants have been saved all season long with great comebacks by Eli but this SF defense will eat him for lunch. Oh and don't forget the great story of Alex Smith as he rushing for at least three 1st downs that will help lead this offense to big day.
